COMPANY POLICES

Mal Pais Travel acts only as an agent for the passenger in regard to Travel, whether by road, railroad, boat, airplane, helicopter, or horse, and assumes no liability for injuries, damages, losses, accidents, delays or irregularities that may be caused either by reason of act or default of any hotel, carrier, boat, restaurant, company or person, rendering any of the services included in the trip, or any other circumstances beyond their direct control.

RESERVATION PROCESS

Early reservations are recommended in order to guarantee your accommodations. During the high season (November to April and months of July and August), Mal Pais Travel suggests that reservations be made at least six months in advance in order to confirm space. All the reservations must be sent in writing via fax or e-mail with all the specifications of the client’s request.

RERSERVATION POLICIES


All reservations must be warranted by means of a credit or debit card. When making your reservation the system will automatically charge the total amount and will give the confirmation number. The confirmation of the reservation will be subject to acceptance of the credit card included in the request form. MAL PAIS TRAVEL does not confirm your reservation when your credit card presents some inconvenience, or is turner down. (not accepted).
Payments through wire transfer can also be made into Banco Nacional de Costa Rica SWIFT BNCRCRSJ account number $200-02-191-000065-0. Add a $30 bank fee.


CANCELLATION POLICIES


Cancellations must be received in writing a minimum of 45 days prior to arrival. In such cases, the deposit will be refunded, less a handling charge of US $ 100 and the guarantee deposits to hotels and tour coordinators.
The following conditions apply to cancellations received after making the balance of payment for individuals as for groups:

  • 30 days prior to arrival, 30 % of the total amount is subject to forfeiture.
  • 29 to 15 days prior to arrival, 50 % of the total amount is subject to forfeiture.
  • 0 to 14 days prior to arrival, 100% of the total amount is subject to forfeiture.
  •  In case of No Show at all (when the customer does not arrive on the reserved date), penalization will be for 100% of the total amount charged.

Certain hotels may have more strict cancellation and refund policies. These vary according to each hotel and depending on each circumstance. Mal Pais Travel will do all the efforts to try to obtain the best benefic possible for our clients.
